Our club is run for the members, by the members. In the mornings it's not paid staff who unpack the hanger, inspect everything for serviceability and set the airfield up, it's our keen members.
With briefings at 9:00 each weekend morning, and sometimes earlier in the summer, it's plain to see that everyone is fanatic about flying, and ensuring that they can use every available minute of the sunlight.
With flying occurring at every available opportunity, we've seen Oxfordshire from snowy winter, to hot and dry summers, from windy autumns to dodging spring showers, when we can fly, we will.
The Social Aspect
Alongside the flying our members enjoy a busy social scene, our calendar usually includes seasonal parties, barbeques, lectures and talks, open days and more.
During the summer soaring season however, we'll often have BBQs every weekend evening. With little light pollution around the airfield, finishing the day by watching stars, planets and satellites overfly us is not unusual.
