Covid-19 Information

Last updated: 26th December 2020

Due to the recently announced decision to move Oxfordshire into Tier 4, we are currently unable to fulfil any flight experiences.

For reference, our latest visitor guidance can be found below for the measures you can expect to see in place when we restart flying.

Oxford Gliding Club Covid-19 Visitor Guidelines

Thank you for taking the time to read our current guidelines for how we operate as a club. We hope you enjoy your experience with us, and we will try to make it as ‘normal’ as possible, where safe and practical to do so. We’ve put our main changes below so that you can see how we’re keeping people safe. We ask that when you visit us you abide by these guidelines to help ensure that both you and our members are as safe as possible.

What you need to do before you arrive at the club:

  • Please complete and bring your membership form and declaration with you to the club

  • Please only bring one other person (friend or family) to the club. We can’t cater for any more people and will not be able to accommodate you if any more people turn up. This is to ensure the smallest risk to both our members and your friends and family

  • Please make sure you bring a face covering that you are comfortable wearing, it should follow the current UK Government requirements, but as a minimum should cover your mouth and nose. It must be worn during the flight. We will be unable to facilitate any flights if you do not wear a mask, and we will be unable to provide a mask for you if you forget.

  • Please do not attend if you, or anyone you have been in contact with in the past 14 days, tests positive for Covid-19, or displays any symptoms of the disease. We will of course reorganise your flight if you are unable to attend because of this.

When you arrive at our club:

  • Please make yourself known to our members so that we can get you set up for your flight. You and your guest must exercise social distancing, but we don’t require you to wear a mask until you are in the aircraft.

  • Both you and your instructor will wear masks during the flight. We will also clean the aircraft cockpit before and after your flight, please do not be offended by this – we are cleaning every cockpit after every different pilot, including our members.

Thank you, and we hope you enjoy your experience with us. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask our bookings officer.
